on meditation brain changes
—recently, meditation practice created another small increase in my sensory clarity, which happens more the further you go
—this expanded my perceived field of vision, such that, when i am looking at someone in front of me and resting my hands on a table, i can more clearly see my hands in my peripheral vision
—my hands are tiny and fucked up in my peripheral vision, it is hilarious, through the wisdom of buddhism i can see how silly my little hands look
—this was a little distracting at first but i have started treating it as a source of entertainment
—such are the fruits of tireless daily practice
—i feel that spiritual practice has transformed my life in ways large and small, but saying some of them out loud makes me feel impossibly basic and silly
—like, durr, i like breathing more now, durr
—perhaps this is part of the point, acknowledging that silly achievements can be as life-transforming as seemingly more serious ones,
—a comfortable pair of socks can do as much for you as a massive career change, in terms of daily qualia consequences
—i should enjoy breathing, i will have to do a lot of it, it’s a super cheap hobby if nothing else
